Wood identification ( may be difficult - good luck) )

Joe-Bob, The mimosa has a few different name; silk tree, silky acacia, and ofcourse Albizia julibrissin. While scientists classify mimosa as a hardwood–it is a deciduous tree that loses its leaves each fall–it resembles pine in density and hardness. While mimosa and pine are similar in hardness, mimosa cuts better because it lacks the troublesome sap and pitch of pine. The Mimosa would have to be stabilized before using. Personally, I dislike the invasive tree , and they dont usually get that big. I needed to cut the tree down before it fell on my dog or on me cutting the grass. I treated it kindly just incase there was some figure. Well there is some nice figure- crotch area and quarter sawn, will just see how much it wants to move during drying. Thanks-Mark

Safta, you can hold me to it---It may be better to let it sit in ny basement for awhile before shipping to minimize the chance of movement, or I could send it out to you on monday -it's sealed with wax. Thank you -Mark
