Hypothetical situation:
Chris Reeves himself (so you know it's not a fake) lost his wallet at the knife show you're at. His family is out of town and his friends aren't home, and he needs money to get home (gasoline, etc.), So he offers to sell you a wood inlay damascus Sebenza (or other favorite Sebbie) for $100. The catch is that this is the only money you have for all of next week, and you CAN'T sell the knife for a quick turnover of cash. Would you buy the knife and scrape by? (maybe you can borrow $40 at the most from your friends). I think I probably would. Am I knife-a-holic? Probably.

damn right i would!
then when i got back id turn around and sell that MOFO for a profit.

course, the folks at these shows are usually good folks and would give him his wallet back.

Maurice, you haven't read carefully enough!!! No turnover sales allowed (for at least one month anyway)

I need to lose a little weight anyway. My wife and son would not be hurt if they missed a few meals. I WOULD NOT HESITATE TO BUY IT!

pergatory- you didnt read close enough either.

"then when i got back"

thank you,and have a nice evening

I'll go for the 'Good Samaritan' award and say I'd give him the money and simply give him my info to send it back when he gets home. I've been 'light' on cash plenty of times but you can never have enough good karma.

DUH!!! I wouldn't even think twice. I've lived without money for more than a week before.

I will probably give him the $100. Tell him to keep his knife and he can pay me back anytime he feels like it.

I reckon with a famous knifemaker friend like Chris Reeves, I will probably gain more in knowledge about the hobby I love than all the monetary gains I hope to gain the short term.

I am going without any money now! So, I probably would not have any money to give him.

I will second Bteel's sentiments, however I would buy a woody for that price... I would feel like a **** for not giving the money away, esp to Chris, but a woody is a woody
