Wood scales maintenance

Just picked up a ladyfinger on the exchange for my Dad. It is bocote over wenge. What should I tell him about upkeep on the wood?

Linseed oil? Nothing? Mineral oil?
 
I'm glad you asked. All my knives are treated the same. They are stored clean and dry, and are occasionally slathered with mineral oil, blade and handle. Sometimes I even soak them in the stuff. Its food safe, won't go rancid, and is the perfect knife lube IMO. Also, I slather all the knives with it before I ship them out.
