It has been really wet here the last couple days, so I haven't gotten out on the land much. I did spend a few minutes yesterday making this little spoon/necklace combo. I soaked it in linseed oil last night to give it a finish. The up-side of the rig would be the ability to have your spoon with you around the camp, the down side would be you'd have wipe it down pretty good after use or you'll get dinner all over the front of your clothing:D.. What do you guys think?

Very cool! Looks like you could have some fun with a wood burner on the back side, too!

The first 2 pics are great. I couldn't see a spoon in the last one, though:D

Your pics are so clear, I absent mindedly tried to brush that piece of hair of my screen on the last shot - then I felt shame and guilt about doing that :D

I'm pretty sure that hair is on your screens......:D

I just finished up another spoon, these are quick to make, I'll post pics of the new one later... I'm going to do a third, I've got some nice cherry off my land that should make a good one.. Wood work is addictive isn't it?

Nice work! What is the knife in the top photo? Is that what you used to carve your spoon?

Its an old Imperial Pro Skinner, they are also sold as Wildcat Skinners... I have a couple of these, I grew up with one so they are kind of a sentimental knife... I didn't carve the spoon with that knife,I used my Mora 780 Triflex (like it for whittling/carving). I cheated a little on the bowl, I ran a little hand held grinder around in the bowl for a second too...
