Wood Supplier bigmikeyc1 (Wooden Artistic Treasures)

Anybody buy from this guy? I know him from ebay, and I bought from him a couple of years ago. I liked the stuff I bought, except there was a set of mesquite scales that snapped.

All of his stuff is listed as "stabilized." He does not list any particular company doing the stabilizing.

Wondering if anybody else has experience with him.

I bought 3 pairs of stabilized scales from him. Good price & prompt delivery. Stabilization quality seem (just from use) sub-par to K&G. Scales book match cuts weren't flat (wavy & dip sawn). My purchases from DreamBurl (on BF) were much higher quality. I kept eye-candying BurlSource's goods but yet to grab some.

You really got to watch those ebay guys, some of them at least, I messaged one fella who was selling stabilized maple burl scales and it turned out his stabilization process was 5 coats of min wax wood hardener applied with a brush, I sent him a 2nd message setting him straight on what was a real stabilization process was, soon after he let his listings expire and didn't relist
