Wood treatment for birch nodule handles...

Hiyas,

I've been pondering this for a while... I've been looking at pics on the Rosarms website and all the handles that are from birch nodule show a clearly dark pattern.

My questions is related to my own very precious Companion 2. It has a clearly very light color in the wood handle. Could it be possible that my C2 missed a step in the production line and didn't get oiled (or whatever they do to the handles)?

Is it just me? What do you think?
Thanks for the info!!

PS: I'd like to re-state that I'm extremely happy with this knife... :)

Thank you for a good question.

Birch nodule is naturally light colored wood. Before they used some dark stain but now they are using clear stain (or special set of stains :))

I'm 100% positive that your knife didn't miss any steps in production.
all knives shipped to USA have went through triple Q.C.

I had a few customers who requested light handles instead of dark...

Last shipment We had was with light colored handles. I think it was just a new touch for 2008-2009. I'm not sure which color we will have with new shipment which is coming in 2 weeks...

Thanks for the reply Kancler! much appreciated!

I would have been very surprised had it missed a step but I would rather ask and have a clear conscience. Thanks again!

every one of these knives is such a beautiful specimen... I will definitely have to put an order in soon.
