Woodchuckery / Model question

LMRRAO, again. :D

Dave the kamis aren't *quite* that literal.:)
On the models I have made the edge is about a 1/32" radius or so. It's not written in stone as to how sharp the model's edge is as long as there's some semblance of an edge where the edge is suppsed to be.:)

Do you have a pic or a link to where we can see what you're making? I'm reasonably sure it was talked about here, but dayumed if I can recall it.

I put the 3rd coat of clear on the Bowie model's handle today. Barb's now saying the model is too dang burned pretty to send over to a bunch of kamis who're liable to break the point off and make them all the same way from then on.;)
I am for sure enough gonna get some pix of the model before we send it off.
I do have to admit that I think it's very pretty too and there's just nothing quite like the warm dark golden glow of Western Cedar Heartwood!!!!!!!:D
It's way to bad it's waaaayyyy too soft for khukuri handles!!!!!!!:)

And you're welcome.:)

YVSA,

Uhhh...pictures... Ummm....let me go talk to the neighbors...I think they have a camera..and I can e-mail it to Uncle or you.

Right now there is a 19 1/4" Cutting surface, 24" oal...but I am going to give it a 12" tang so that the forces of a 6' pole wont be too much.

Still 1/2" thick
edge geometry is such that it starts its convex edge in the center of the blade...makes the most of that 1/2" thickness

The curve is 3 1/4", I guess you would call it "drop".

the spine has 3 faces sort of like 1/2 a hexagon...this tapers really nice at the point.

Right now it balances almost exactly at the middle of the blade because of a little "hump" I gave it in its spine. But the balance will change with the addition of a longer tang and fullers

1 7/8" wide at the base of the blade
10 3/4" from the base of the blade to the "hump"
2 1/4" wide at the "hump"
the belly of the blade curves for 10 1/2" of its 19"

Anymore questions??? I am going to put it down till tomorrow, when I might do the fullers. This has been too easy...the fullers are scareing me. YVSA, like yours this too is very pretty...the last thing I want to do is mess up a thing of such beauty.

(Yeah yeah yeah...I am talking it up...give me a break. )
