Wooden Spoon (pic heavy)

Well done. My computer jammed on this pic thread up till now.
Good to see another method to make a spoon. Next time I have a camp fire I,ll try one. What are the best kinds of wood to use?

I will let the real experts answer that question as I have no ideal. My philosophy is simple, If its not poisonous and you can successfully make it into a spoon then use it.

Couldn't say what's best. Have only tried a few. Basswood (Tilia americana) and Poplar (Populus spp.) seem to work well.

I am glad poplar works well as it is a common tree. I used it for a light walking stick and a skin stretching frame.

I will try to get out to the range one last time and lop me down a length.
