Wooden Wednesday - Traditionals only please

Carrying this one today...I had almost turned it into my only safe queen but with a push from this forum decided to go ahead and carry it.... Haven't regretted it a bit.

Gorgeous. Love the shield in particular.

I have a blackwood Charlow on the way. This isn't helping my patience! :D

I had no idea how much I would like this knife.

I'll see your ebonies and raise you a little ironwood, on this fine Woodnesday... :D

Thanks for your comments SH and I missed this last week - two very beautiful fixed blades!!

Case Equestrian with Rosewood covers

Very nice Equestrian!

case bros. little valley ny

I see that your knife was made in the same little town and probably in the same era as my old Catt. I also see similar qualities. Very nice old Case Brothers!;)

Some old TL-29s. Top row: Camillus, Cattaraugus. Bottom row: Ulster, Kingston, Remington.

I really enjoyed seeing these AL - thanks for posting them!:)

I am lucky to have four nice Charlows, especially since I was late to the party. I would love to find one with that particular blade. I like yours a lot!:)

It is a beauty sir!:)

Beautiful old knives today folks! Deep envy from this side of the pond:)

Sam,

No need for envy when you have a knife that nice!:D

That one's a beauty! I love that one in African Blackwood. My 48 in cocobolo is the standard blade combo and it's one of my favorites.

Primble,

Thanks, I've always LOVED the that long-pull speer. I wanted one for a long time and feel very fortunate to have finally gotten this one. It's definitely my personal Grail Barlow. The Gabon Ebony on this one is jet black - just beautiful. :)

Not really carrying this one, but I just got it a couple days ago and I've been fondling the heck out of it ever since.
Great feeling handle, terrific balance and gorgeous bocote wood. BRKT Kalahari Hunter.

I have one of these... It almost never leaves my pocket. This knife is just about the perfect knife for me. The wharncliffe blade is perfect for opening mail and packages and also cutting paper carton straps. The clip blade is great for cutting edibles and what not. I used to EDC Case Wharncliffe Mini Trappers (I had six, now five), but this knife is just a little bit larger and the quality is so much better than the Case knives.

I have to give thanks to Mike Latham at Collector Knives for finding the perfect GEC 48 and having it made.

Wow, I just realized that I missed this right along with Primble. That's a pair of working beauties there, SH

Thanks, Logan. Warm color, complex character and tough as nails - what's not to like about desert ironwood?

As a side note, I know I'm really in trouble as a knife knut when I start dreaming not just of particular, individual knives, but of "duos" or even worse - "trios." Some evil little gremlin whispered something in my ear a while back about how nice it would be to have the entire Fox River series in ironwood, and of course I dutifully obeyed... :D

I know what you mean. I've gotten a lot of different handle materials on knives over the years, but somehow I keep coming back to wanting to put desert ironwood on most of them

Posts by Tom (DoubleOtt) definitely don't help my, um, problem

For Wooden Wednesday I pulled out my A. Wright & Son Ettrick, in lovely dark rosewood.

P.S.-- I received this knife in a giveaway from scruffuk, who has been absent from this forum for almost 2 months now.
Anyone heard from him?
