Wooden Wednesday - Traditionals only please

Here's an older Wadsworth sleeveboard whittler in ebony. I like this little knife a lot...

i been eyeballing that particular model for a few weeks now
i hope she carries as well as she looks :D

Same here!

After reading your post I went to the retailer where I too have been eyeballing one. Not surprisingly, it was out of stock. Luckily, I picked one up elsewhere that I was also eyeballing :D

I love ebony wood covers!

In case everybody forgot, it's Wednesday :)
The chosen wood for the day would be ebony.

sturzi, wonderful picture. Diving into the traditional knife hobby has opened my eyes to the other beautiful uses of the exotic hardwoods, and musical instruments certainly make up a large part of that. I know my dad's old clarinet is around here somewhere...

It's not even Wednesday anymore, but for Wood Wed I carried my GEC CC HJ6 "Teamsters Jack" in ebony as well.
I considered ebony to be a dull handle material a few years ago, and now I have a drawer full of it.

Thanks guys for opening my eyes to great simple things like ebony handles and Opinels; thanks for everything...

I'll confess it was not because I remembered about Wooden Wednesday, but I did have this propwood Schrade 832 stockman in my pocket today.

Sadly the only work it saw was to open a couple packages from Amazon.

Doug, I completely understand why that Stockman is one of your favourites, it really is a nice old piece.
Same here, coincidentally there's a piece of Cocobolo in the pocket today.

Here is some nice wood for Wednesday ~ 19th century oak that was harvested from the bottom of the Penobscot river in Maine, the knife is a Drifter in forged 1095 by Matt Paul.
