Wooden Wednesday - Traditionals only please

are those silver bullets?
Yes they are silver bullets. Not real silver but real props from the Lone Ranger's gun belt.

The CSC Canittler really appeals to me. Are the scales old barn board?
Yes, CSC used reclaimed chestnut from the Hoover barn in Kentucky (pictured above) on several models. I was just fortunate enough to score this one recently.

Scruffuk, Pretty sure those scales are chestnut, which has pretty well been extinct in the USA for a long time. They got some from the old barn and made the scales from the wood they got from the barn. John

Received this gorgeous 14 in Gabon Ebony from Traumkommode today, and it wasn't until I got it into the sunlight that I realized the beautiful striation of lighter and darker wood. I'm a big fan of the character of this guy.

(Also, non-mobile users, please let me know if my photo is too large. This is the first time I've posted a non-cell phone camera picture on BF.)

Osage and Ebony
It's hard to photograph, but there's some nice grain in the ebony. :)
