Wooden Wednesday - Traditionals only please

Beautiful knives this week, this one (natch) and the stunning ironwood-handled fixed blade.

As for the above sentiment, you're in good company.

Okay, re-reading that thread, I see you're in mixed good company. :p Still, that's not the only thread discussing the relative scarcity of ebony Northfields, or trying to track down exactly which ones exist.

Your example above sure is fine.

Somewhat unfortunately, the knife picture no longer exists in that handle material. I needed a NF wharnie 72 for a rehandle project, and it was the only example I had. I'll let the reader decide if the transformation was worth the sacrifice; here is the same knife in a sort of greenish colored bark mammoth ivory:

Anybody got an ebony 72NF for sale?

Great looking, Jack.

Here's the one I've bee carrying since I got it

Thanks Mike. Great-looking knife, reminds me of what I've seen of the 2013 Bladeforums knife proposal (though I've very much neglected that thread) :)

Queen whittler in bird's eye maple today:

Very hard to get a good pic of the wood on these, and I wish Queen didn't discontinue them.

You needed a Northfield wharncliffe 72 for this project, did you?! Oh, my.

I have to say, the results look great, but I miss the ebony. And, under the circumstances, this next comment...
