Indeed (hence my "Voila"). Scruff looks absolutely NOTHING like Natalie Portman! :D

He does however have a penchant for traditional blades and fireworks....;)

Too fast for me with the Voila, though I did think you both knew what I was talking about.
First, a wooden handle to justify my existence on this thread:

Then I really must learn to use the emoticons, or restrain my merry quips, or have more faith in my merry quips.
Here's another wooden handle.

As Joe Pesci's character, Nicky, said in the Rodney Dangerfield movie, "Easy Money" . . . .

"Somethin' in a dark black."

What is that? Can you show it next to either a GEC 85, 55 or 23 or a S&M heritage?

Northwoods Indian river jack. Very slim and pocket friendly. Its ATS34 steel with a bark river convex grind. Very sharp. Check out the specs at knives ship free. I'll get a pic next to one of those for you tomorrow.

^ Now that piqued my interest! Very nice Puukkoman:thumbup:
Glad you like it! When you have one of these in your pocket, it feels like a big, smooth (knife-shaped) pebble. Great as a worry-stone. And the wood has only gotten nicer with age! :)

Sweet! More info please??

Well, these fold. :D

Purple-heart inlays.

Glenn, I'm really digging those. Balisongs are traditional in the Philippines! ;) And 29's are super nice... Definitely old school, with the one-piece handles, made like they should be.

Thanks very much, this pair were made in 2002 as a custom order from Chris. They sat in a safe till I acquired them about a month + ago. Yes old school channel construction in hand they are wonderful .

Man size knives weighing in at 8oz each. :D

One more image for good measure.

Beauties. Thanks for the second photo... I've drooled all over my keyboard. Nice grab, congrats on finding those.
One day, one day, I'll have an Olofson bali of my own. It's about opportunism, I suppose... Gotta be like a toad. Sit still, in one spot, blend in with the mud, and then when that juicy caterpillar unwittingly wanders in front of my jaws, SNAP!!! Mine! ;)

If you look around at some popular high end knife retailers there are a "few" of these type 29 Balisongs being sold right now. Just different wood inlays. Don't want to link outside the site , not sure on forum rules pertaining to that but if you care to drop me a email though my profile I can point you.

Can hardly wait till next Wednesday. I've got "wood" . Well more of it.

Gents, if you are going to add Balisongs to the discussion, that's fine as long as they are Traditional Balisongs rather than modern ones. There is an entire forum dedicated to Balisongs.

Sorry Frank, you got it.
Here's a traditional one, to get back on track, with a traditional slipjoint.

^ Very nice mate, how are you finding it?

Carrying my wee Hartkopf today :)

Its very pocketable Jack, and I'm pleased with it, the blade shape especially.....and to think I thought Spyderco 'invented' the leaf pattern ;) The handle shape is a bit unusual, but traditional.

Unfortunately I've not given it much of a workout yet. Its begging to have a bath in oil to preserve/protect the handle and until then its on 'desk duties'. I want to wait until you've had a shifty, and see it in it's virgin state.

A couple of very minor cosmetic issues:

- On this beech handled version, there a couple of small dents on the handle (seen pictured below the 'A' & 'T').

- Also, there is some rust and subsequent spotting on the ricasso, only noticable once open (again, you can see some of this in the above photo). I didn't notice either affecting the Bubinga version (although I admit, I hardly looked at it).

I suspect you will like it.

Thanks for the interim report pal, it sounds excellent, can't wait to see it :)
