Wooden Wednesday - Traditionals only please

This is the "wood" I have with me today... pic is from a few days ago.... I'm not really drinking at work. Really... I'm not. No... really...

Bocote wood lambfoot by Michael May... not his best work on the blade, but the wood is pretty.

If I remember correctly Ron a 73 in osage was one of my first GEC purchases. Unfortunately it couldn't be opened except with extreme measures.
Like most 73’s they do have a stiff pull Alan. That is a problem for a lot of folks. So far I can still handle them okay. I bought a #73 OO from Bob “BigBiscuit” when these first came out in 2015 for that very reason. It was too stiff for him to comfortably use it. :)

Last summer, I managed to walk along a high-altitude tourist trail in the Western Caucasus. On the way there were shepherds and huntsmen. Everyone had something like this. The most inexpensive Kizlyar models. What is sold in the nearest market. Ask these guys what Mora or Emerson are and they say they are the names of a city somewhere in Brazil.

I don't mean it was hard to open it was impossible. The first time I opened it with tape and a vise grip. The guy I sold it to said it was like that for a while and then one day he opened it as smooth as can be.

Lol! I can honestly say I’ve never done that Alan. I can say my 73’s that see a lot of use have all very smooth but stiff pulls. I am not a good judge of these numbers, but I’m going to say this #73 is at least a 7.
