Wooden Wednesday - Traditionals only please

My two woods today..... 23 in mesquite, and Albers bocote... one of the coveted "first run" models....:cool: :D

oh, wow.... that has some really great grain. Most Osage I've seen has much lighter grain that that... does the other side match? I like it.... good job.

I actually used a black ink wash to stain the grain. Originally yellow wood with an orange grain. The other side is here:

That's a good idea on the ink wash. I've never seen it before (I don't get out much...:rolleyes:) It really highlights the grain. Usually osage takes time and use to sort of bring out the grain to where you can really see it, but I've never seen it get this defined. Not bad at all....:thumbsup:
