Early Bocote sighting!

A Case Whaler clad in Walnut without it's bail. If the boat ain't leaking, ya don't need a stinking bail.

:D :D  Good one, ED, and a heck of an impressive knife, too!:thumbsup:

No wood on my rotation schedule this week, but I always have a wood knife or two on kitchen duty. Been using this Italian sheepsfoot for food prep quite often so far this week:

Arriving just in time for Wooden Wednesday...
I received a couple of wonderful bowls from Dan @CelloDan
Not only is Dan a very talented wood turner, he's also very generous.

Thank you, my friend. :)

This one made of Walnut is absolutely gorgeous. Oh ya, the knife is wooden too...
You are correct on both counts. He is a kind and generous person, and a very talented wood worker.

You have a very good work knife there. I have a similar one, and it is a really sharp sturdy work knife. Not as good a quality as yours. These were once made in Australia, but like a lot of things now out sourced to Asia. But was very well priced, and a great go to knife for tough jobs.

That's definitely looks like a sturdy worker, cudgee cudgee !
The "TOLEDO" on the tang stamp doesn't indicate Spanish manufacture?? ;)
I used to know nothing about single-bladed knives, or sheepsfoot blades, but I've become quite fond of some inexpensive knives whose only blade is a big, sharp sheepsfoot.

Thanks for your reply. No " Toledo " is and old Australian company, now trading as Triden. This knife was made in Taiwan. Don't get me wrong, it is a sturdy well made knife, but not as good as the only Italian made knife i have. And yes welcome to the fold, Lambsfoot/Sheepsfoot are my favorite blades, and both have a rich history. :)

Thanks for the Toledo info, and I see what you did there with "welcome to the fold"! :D

I may be wrong and will gladly stand corrected, but if my memory serves me correctly, would you have nominated your Italian Sheepsfoot as your best/favorite 2020 forum knife addition in the competition run by Jack Black, if you had have had it for the correct period of time in line with the requirements. o_O :)

Yep, I wrote something to that effect in some thread here quite recently; I'm impressed you remembered that. :D
In my opinion, the performance/price ratio for that CEM Agricultural Knife is outstanding!:thumbsup::cool:
