I bought that knife at a gun & knife show. The seller had about 2 dozen copies of that pattern in clamshell packages laid out on a table; he had considerately partially opened each package so prospective buyers could remove a knife from its package to inspect both sides of the knife and try out the action of the blades. I probably examined 8-10 knives before deciding on the one in the photo, and paid $10 for what I considered a great deal.

My only timber-clad knife this week is a Tarmundi with burnt boxwood handle that I bought in Seville, Spain:

sharpest knife in the box! i think Jack Black Jack Black once told me it was called a candlestick handle as i have a snakewood or ironwood lambfoot that doesnt have that sway back quality in the handle. i remember sometime ago when the lambfoot craze first hit and i brought a few that came right before a rendezvous
