A couple of years ago, a storm knocked a big limb from an oak tree in the front yard, and as I cleaned it up, I looked for a branch that had a well-placed bend like you have for your handle. I couldn't find what I was looking for, so I used a longer piece of a straight branch to make a staff whose top is about shoulder height for me. At the top, it does have a little kink, then goes back to parallel to the original direction, which turned into a handgrip for me.
