I don't really get into fixed blades, but one of these NIB was on the bay today going cheap and darned if I didn't snipe it at a super price.
I suppose I can trade it if I decide not to keep it. But, I haven't gotten it yet and it looks and sounds awesome from the pictures and what I've read about it. So, I will see how I like this big hunk of steel.

Jill, once you have it in hand I'd love to hear what you think about the woodlander - I've been wondering about one also! :D

I'll take some pictures and let you know all about it.
There's already a good bit here about them and on the Spyderco forum.

Ta!

I've been looking through the old posts for the last couple of months trying to decide whether to pull the trigger, maybe you will tip me over the edge :D

Its an awesome knife, I love it. It will make you want more FB Spydercos =) As I mentioned in a previous post about it, smaller hands might have a problem with it. The Dayhiker has much thinner scales, so if you like the shape, F&F of it, etc., but it doesn't fit your hand, consider that instead.

Hey if you don't like it you could use it.... :D

It looks like a great knife, I'd love to see comparison shots to other Spyderco FB's.

I don't have anyother Spyderco fixed blades, but it was going so cheap I had to try to win it.
I probably will trade it off as I wouldn't ever carry it hiking. I have carried FB knives before, but they are way too heavy.

The series was made for Spyderco by Fox in Italy from Jerry Hossom designs. They also made the Retribution folders for Ontario with the same Hossom-style handles, also in green Micarta. Really nice if your hand is big enough for them.

The Izula is a nice small light fixed blade, you may like it. Also I saw a Tom Krein Dogfish and it looked pretty nice and light, of course they are both skeletonized though.
