Woods Moccasins

Great steal...I went to the closest Goodwill today to see if I could luck out too!

I went there two weeks ago too and almost pulled the trigger on a barely worn leather biker jacket for $15 bucks. I went back two days after and it was gone. I have regretted that decision almost every second since (I am on the record as putting it in the top 5 regrets all time)

Bought 'em.

They fit a lot better once I laced them up and my son seems to approve. I think I may have to get some black leather dye and re-lace them with para-cord though. They are a little too... dorky I guess is the word. My wife says they smell like old people.
Those look outstanding! That was a real score!
I have an old pair of custom made Dyers that have to be about 35 years old from the days when he was here in Toronto. Still in great condition, but they have only seen light use.

So now I need to get hold of 1170$ ?

If you want the only moccasins that will hold up to hardcore, rugged, no-holds-barred, showing off...then yes. Yes you do.

Honestly, for that kind of money, they better be the best in the world.

So reading this thread I was taken back to when I was a kid. I had a pair of Indian style mocs with the leather bottoms and they had to be the most comfortable shoe I had ever worn. I have casually looked for them for years when I am in stores to no avail.

After this thread I went on a mission and low and behold, I found them. Yeah I know they are kinda goofy looking but I loved the way they felt so I just snagged a pair. Hope they are as comfortable as I thought they were 30 years ago. :D

Those are pretty sweet! Which company makes them?

If the tongue has a full gusset I couldn't have passed on those!

Awesome score Bro! I got a pair of Danners last year for a dollar. I just had them resoled last week. They are awesome. I also got a pair of pack boots for a buck this summer...if you look around you can find good deals

Seriously? Who loses both slippers?

btw, cute kid.

Yuppies leave all kinds of neato stuff in hotel rooms. I got a down-filled jacket last winter and someone else brought home 2 pairs of skis. It's not like the stuff is up for grabs once it's left, either. You have 3 months to call us and claim it and we'll even UPS it back to you!
I didn't even realize the Little Guy was in the pic until I saw it. He's so mobile now that he gets into everything, including pictures, before we realize it!

Not sure if it's okay to post links. Will PM the site to you.
Got it, thanks! Cool stuff.

yep good ol softsoled mocs... Minnetonka... 35 bucks :/ I don't know what all the hubub is about, I've been recomending them for months and people shrug it off like I'm crazy or something. At 35 bucks it's worth just TRYING, and if you don't like em for trail wear, worst case scenario is you have a pair of authentic house slippers.

I've been dreaming of a pair of Russell moccasins for a long time now but don't think it will happen.

I've been going cheap with the Minnetonkas and have to admit that I've been very happy with them! Great buy for the money and they have lasted much longer than I would ever have thought.

I would suggest pulling the insole out of them as soon as you buy them though.
I don't like the way it feels and it starts to smell quickly if you leave the insoles in them.

I went and picked up some replacement inner soles for them yesterday. If I remember correctly they didn't have much arch support. I remember wearing my last ones for years before they finally fell apart. Feel like a kid again.

interesting - all the mocs Minnetonka offers with hard or soft soles are only available in the hard sole variant here ...

That kinda sucks.

Yeah, you win. Good score.

I have three pair of Poppins, hand made to my feet. Not cheap but great mocs, I had my first pair resoled about two years ago.

I was attending the Alafia River Rendezvous when Carl Dyer died, it was pretty sad he had a lot of friends. He put a lot of rendezvousers feet in his mocs.

My first pair were made by Walter Dyer his brother. Both are gone now.
