Modified S7 steel, used once for chopping and baton splitting some pine branches, approx 2" area of smoothing in crinkle coating, 1/4" coating chipped off tip on left side of blade tip and a tiny chip off spine at tip. Comes with the kydex-lined cordura sheath shown. The extra security of the nylon slide-lock is a nice touch.

SPF Bill Siegle camp kitchen knife $280 shipped. Differentially heat treated 1/4" thick 5160 steel, full flat ground, pinned micarta handle, kydex sheath. 11" OAL, 6.25" from tip to plunge shoulder. This one has Bill's usual edge -- somewhat toothy with a very thin shoulder that makes his wares *very* good slicers.

My micrometer (only 0.01" precision) says both of the Game Wardens are ~0.170" thick at the ricasso. So it looks like Jfiles53 is first in line for the tan one.

Yes the Basic 3 is still available and is new.

Price is $1,100 because you also get the Busse Basic 9, 7, 5, and sheaths (plus two Busse boxes) with it. As noted in the original posting of this thread, sets won't be broken and the four Basics are being sold as a set.

Thank you for checking out the Busse Basics, which are IMHO still the most comfortable knives the Boss Hog has yet produced.
