I received my parts from Tracy, for my NWG.I got them back before Christmas, but I was just able to start working on it this weekend.I turned it on Saturday, and this thing is awsome. For the last 3 years all I have had to grind(sand) with, was a Chraftsman 4x36,and files.I will say, this is like stepping out of the stone age.

I did not have much faith in this bolt together design, but this thing is rock solid. All I have right now is a 1 hp motor, and it is not fully enclosed, not the best thing, but it was free.I will say,1hp is not the way to go,and I will be saving for something bigger.

The shop is not much to look at.It is only 10x14,and cluttered up.

Thanks for looking,God bless,Keith

Looks like your ready buddy, I love the note your kid wrote, you should leave that on their forever!

Shoot some clear over that note on the platen, it'll remind you of better times before they become a teenager. I keep notes like that on the wall in my shop.

Nicely done on the grinder too!

cool !! I need to step out of the stone age also and am looking for plans or ideas to make a good blade grinder...any ideas or contacts for suppliers ?

Man, seeing these come together so inspires, and bugs me. I've got the steel and all the parts except the wheels sitting in my garage.

I'm actually taking the day off on Friday to work on the grinder, along with 2 knives I'm finishing up and a lesson for the Men's breakfast at my church. Anyone know how to stretch 8 hours into about 16?

Charlie

Nice going. You'll love it. Also you know how to fix and modify it.
Yes, save the note.

Thanks guys.

Looks like I should save my little message,Will I'll take your advice, and spray some clear on it.

dr and Charlie,Tracy at Midwest Knifemakers Supply, has all you need for the NWG,at good prices and good service.

God bless,Keith
