This graceful tusk serves as a reminder of the impressive Wooly Mammoth. These majestic animals roamed the earth over 1 million years ago, up to as recently as 10,000 years ago. They were one of the largest mammals to ever walk the earth, often standing as high as four meters at the shoulder. The tusks measured as long as 16 feet. Over the millennia, as the mammoth became extinct, glacial deposits buried their giant tusks. This tusk belonged to an infant Mammoth approximately 8 years old. It is a complete tusk and very rare. Found in Siberia in the frozen permafrost and authenticated by Archeoligists at the Missouri Mastondon State Park. 33.5" in length and weighs 4 pounds, 9.3 oz.
