Any good sources for wooly mammoth ivory suitable for scales that is affordable. Yes, I'm probably off my rocker, but .... what the hay.

RL, I just looked at what's available at the link I posted: Not much! Had better looking stuff in the past, and may again. I've always bought from Rick Fields, and now his brother, at shows. Good bark ivory cost money. No one sells it cheap if they know what they have. I have sets that cost $220 and none under $170.

I will have 100 sets 4 1/2 x 1 1/4 of good Russian mammoth in a few weeks.They will run from $60 to $100 per set.I hope to have about 300 pounds of bark by the end of the month . If you have something you are interested in drop me a line at akivory@gci.net and I can email you some photos.

Try http://www.boonetrading.com They have hippo/elephant/wart hog/mammoth/oosic and so on. They have resonable prices too (I think so at least).
