I just got my VTAC from botech tactical and I love it! It really does seem like you could chop through anything with this baby! I can't wait to put her through some simple tests! I'll post some pics as soon as I get my new digital camera I just ordered! Haha. :D

Congratulations, FSCjedi. From what I've seen, the Vtac is widely respected by people in the know. How do you feel about the short, 14-inch handle length? I have been thinking about getting the Comanche long, because of the longer, 18-inch handle length, which seems more useful to me.

Congrats Jedi! Keep us posted on it's doings....er, a....undoings as it were.

TD, there is a big difference between the blade styles, thickness, grind angles, etc, between the Comanche and the VTAC. If you're looking for a defeat nearly everything hawk, I'd lean towards the VTAC. The Comanche might be able to do it, but I'd still give the advantage to the Lagana. Nobody can convince me that the Comanche is a better breaching hawk. Sorry......but I have both and I just can't see it. It's a slicer/dicer of the 10th Degree, but a cinderblock wall, I BELIEVE, would be the death of her.

Enjoy , they are great to have around and a lot of fun to throw !!!

The head on the Vtac does look capable of doing more serious damage to stone walls and such. The Vtac is on my short list, but I'm always stopped by the short handle. If ATC would put an 18-inch handle on it, it would be at the top of my list. I don't have evidence, but I have the sense that the extra leverage of a slightly longer handle could make all the difference in more than a couple situations.

I am use to longer handles on my tomahawks, but the 14" doesn't bother me in the slightest. I actually find the size nice for attaching to gear and whatnot. It's not too ackward. If I get a chance to use it any time soon, I'll be sure to post a review. I've got a field training exercise coming up in three weeks, and I'm thinking about asking my drill sergeants if I can throw it in my ruck or strap it to the side. I'll just play up the "tool" side of things and hope they give me some credit. *shrug* Here's hoping!

Congrats on the VTAC. It is my favorite edged tool I have. Theres nothing that your new hawk wont jump at and overcome. I am STILL waiting on my other to get here!!!!! :)
