The first one is a friction folder by Achim Wirtz, wootz steel & fossil ivory.

Closed length: 4 3/4" (6 1/3" with the coil)
Open: 8 1/4 "
Blade: 3 3/4"

The second one is a forged katana blade from Gert Van Den Elsen. The steel is W2. Gert is one of the best european makers IMO, and makes japanese blades from time to time. The OAL is 37 1/2" and the blade 27 1/2". It has a nice hamon. Gert has a wait of over 4 years for big blades. I had the chance to get this one because I was on the "in case" list and a customer who reserved it backed off. I planned to make the fittings, then I realised it's too complicated for my skills. I can't afford to have it dressed properly so I'm offering it for sale. I am asking $GONE plus shipping for this one which should be a more than fair price for a good hand forged katana blade. The shipping is $50 if you choose regular french priority (very reliable to the USA but no tracking no insurance unfortunately) or $120 french express fully insured with tracking. I have to check for UPS costs ...
I take PayPal and will eat the fees, or wire transfer. No MO's, sorry but they are a pain to cash in France.

Forgot to add the trades. Even though I prefer to sell, I might consider trades for:

.. no more trades

The list is not exclusive but gives you an ideea.

The katana blade is gone.
I'll leave on vacation for a week starting tomorrow evening, so MERRY CHRISTMAS to you all and don't lose patience if I don't answer PM's or emails.

I wouldn't go any lower, but I just spent a LOT and really need to sell. I'll let it go for withdrawn

Up again. I am surprised nobody made a move on it. It's a really well made folder, rare and (I honestly hope) at a decent price :o

From members with good reputation I am willing to accept half up front, then send the knife, and the other half in one month or so ;)

I got the katana blade from flava and I just wanted to say the transaction went off without a hitch. I wouldn't hesitate to do business with him again.

Thank you Keith, that was a smooth deal indeed

Last try for the wootz folder, for a couple of dasy, then it goes on ebay.
I have never seen a wootz knife made by a great bladesmith sell at such a low price before. In fact I have never seen one under 1000 except some small and simple pieces from Russia.
Price is still withdrawn.
