wootz pattern welded steel?

well guys have any exsperiance with this? i would be useing it for some small classy full tang blades for a daily gents knife. 2 1/2 to 3 x1/2" thank you in advance.

Still, it is hard to get your hands on REAL wootz. It is not pattern welded, but crucible melted damascus steel. Some say it's the real damascus. I know a guy in germany who sells old wootz "kings" (ingots) from northern india, but prices are so high i doubt that you will be using them. A 8 cm diametre steel "ball" of wootz is sold at about 1.300,- DM or 650 $. Last year some russians mailed me and offered a wootz steel raw blade blank of 30 cm (12") length for 4.000 $ to me. I thought they were a little crazy and didn't answer.

adler, bresia is the place i found it. ihave only read about in some brief articals. was curious about the statement that it does not need heat treatment.
