Work and EDC knives recommendations

This may be a bit out of the box but my recommendation would be a Benchmade 319 proper. Its a great user with good steel and looks like a normal grandpa knife to the non-knife people.......:)

For what it’s worth, I prefer a small fixed blade as a work knife for a couple of reasons.

Much easier to clean grime and gunk off, plus no pivot to accumulate grit.

No chance of folding. Sometimes on a long work day you can get a little careless on your technique.

No chance of inadvertently opening in your pocket.

Less moving parts to fumble with.

Just my opinion from my personal experiences. Everyone will have a different preference.

Many of the knives mentioned earlier are great choices as well.

Good luck in your search!

Right now my collection is just getting started so I rotate between my Manix 2 and my PM2 for EDC and I grab my Rat 1 for working around my property.

I was going to recommend the American Lawman or the Ultimate Hunter for very strong, well made , ergonomic work knives. But if you don t likee the back lock on the Endura compared to the lock on the Manix, then you might not like the excellent triad lock.
Look at the Griptilian with 154cm steel. Very strong knife. Durable. Comfortable. Don t let the plastic handles put you off. Very strong, very light weight.
And of all the knives mentioned, probably the most comfortable in hand for a heavy duty work knife.
Because I m comfortable with the triad lock, I currently use the Cold Steel Recon1, Ultimate Hunter, and American Lawman for my outdoor work. So far, very durable.

My preference is Benchmade but you have a number of great options mentioned by other members on the forum.

Well you can't go wrong with either of your choices.
I would also look into a Spyderco Paramilitary 2 for a work knife and a Benchmade Mini Griptilian for an edc. Both are S30V, under $150 and solid performers. There is a plethora of options within your criteria. Buy what you think you like, then buy more once you've refined what you like based on what you didn't like about your first choice.
I would lean more towards the Delica though. VG-10 is a great EDC steel, takes an awesome edge with little work and holds it just fine for your general edc.

I carry a Spiderco Para3 at work. The main use is opening boxes and stripping small wire. The blade comes in under three inches, and I merely strop it once every three to four weeks to maintain the super sharp edge.

Edit: I really did think these knives were a gimmicky joke with the hole in the blade, until I owned one. I was wrong to think as much. I love it, and bought two more of them for family members.

Work knife, great choice. I have several Manix 2's and they will fit that role perfectly.

EDC knife consideration is a great choice too but take a look at the Para 3 LW or Bugout too.......
