Work Boots

I wear Red Wings and have been pretty happy with them. The USA made ones have a great warranty-took mine in last year after 5 years and they replaced the soles, oiled them up,and replaced laces for no cost. If they're the imported ones they don't have the same warranty.

I have been wearing Redbacks for about 10 years now. They are not American made but imported from Australia. I cant say enough good about them. About 3years ago I switched to the slip on version. Still have that same pair. I'm a truck driver and outside in the elements everyday. These have held up quite well for me. Still have the same pair of slip-ons I bought 3 years ago, the steel toe is just starting to show on the right one now.

I wear king ranch custom work boots, my landscapers swear by redwings ... The only thing I'd change about mine is to add the steel toe

I had a pair of Chippewa Survivors, best boots I ever owned. That was yearrrs ago. After they wore beyond repair and, I couldn't find em again in my size, I went to Red Wings, I could get about two winters out of them. They discontinued the sole I liked and cheapened at a greater cost. I switched to Danner. Their Super Rainforest for work, land development/ roadbuilding, and the lighter Quarry to hunt in. I know several people wearing custom Whites and lovin' 'em. I never wanted to wait. The new? Danner RAT looks awesome.

Wesco. best boots I've ever owned. had a pair custom made 13 years ago and they firt like a glove. way pricey but worth it!

I've been working in construction for 15 years, tried many different boots throughout the years. Now, I think I've found the one brand I won't stray from, the company is called Royer. Check it out.

The boot I got is light weight due to it's composite toe and plate, as opposed to metal. Plus it has all the regular bells and whistles.

Danner is my preference(wish they were all made in U.S though). Even Danners chinese boots are better then any U.S made Rocky I have owned. I always thought Redwing was overpriced, not that they dont or didnt make a good boot. I know for a while they had qc issues. My cousin was a big fan and when he had issues with two pairs different models back to back he quit buying em. I can't say Danner's are the best out there but they make a good boot at a decent price. I have slowly replaced all my boots to Danners.

Danner boots are okay but I always have a problem with the goretex leaking. I have had 4 pairs and sent back 3.

I have some custom Wescos. Pretty decked out. They are very well made but I wish they had the nailless construction of the Whites boots.

There is not an all leather boot that will hold up well in a wet, cow manure enviroment. It breaks the leather down quickly. If you are going to use an all leather boot make sure and treat them often with something like obenauf's heavy duty lp. I mean at least once a week and apply at least two coats. Then let sit overnight. If they get wet often it might be a good idea to buy a shoe dryer. They will last longer and this will help to keep them fresher smelling:barf:. In the winter I wear Muck boots. They are warm, waterproof and seem to hold up well. Good luck. Take care of them pigs(dogs).

I ran a bolt through the ball of my foot and the only boot I can wear now is danner. I have tried Redwing, Rocky, Wolverine and then Danner. I stopped at Danner cause of the comfort so I cannot say anything about any other brands but obviously Danner gets my vote.

I wear Rig Boss boots in the winter, they are amazing. Good to -100C and tuff as all hell. In the summer I usually go with Dakota and have had good luck with them but most boots are finished after one summer on a rig. I have heard alot of good things about Redwings so I will try them next summer. Theres no such thing as a long lasting boots where I work.

I wore and swore by West Coast Shoe Co. (Wesco) boots for 8 or so years. Resoled every year and a half, had them rebuilt a time or two, still going strong. They have an issue with their soles splitting just under my arch on both boots after about 9 months. This led me into the world of hiking boots. Destroyed 2 pairs of Asolos in 6 months each.

I now wear Limmer boots. They have factory made boots in stock, or you can wait 18 months for a custom fitted pair of handmade boots. Their shop and store are in Intervale, NH. Best people I have ever dealt with for any purchase. I highly recommend them. I wear my Limmers 12-20 hours a day 5-6 days a week. They took about 6 weeks to break in, but now they are like slippers, seriously. Calf skin leather interiors are comfortable like nothing I have ever had.

A few have brought up Timberland boots, and I'd reccomend them also. I had a pair for years before the steel toes started to show. I dissected those before I got another pair of Timberlands which I've had for about three years now.

I've never had a problem with them, and they are affordable and you can get them almost anywhere. I don't know their whole line of boots, but the two I've had were from the Timberland PRO line.

I would seriously re-consider your stance against Red Wings. I've been wearing them for 15+ years now at a job that is absolutely brutal on them, much more so than farming. I have nothing but good to say about them. Maybe you just got a bad pair of them. If you had issues with the fit or comfort of them, you should know that different models come with different "lays". In other words, if one boot wasn't right for you, it was probably the wrong lay for your foot. A knowledgeable sales clerk can help you there.

fixed it for ya. :D

If you get your boots to last one year and you wear them everyday, you did well.
I like redwing loggers and chippewa loggers with the little american flag on the laces.
