I have the Quark AA titanium and its a nice light for the size. The output is decent for the work u describe. Comes with a long lanyard and i usually wear it around the neck when using it.

My recommendation is this 1...Runs on AAA's and we all know there are plenty of those left in the junk drawer...everyone wants those AA's don't they. FourSevens is the up and coming newer company with "glowing" reviews. I bought this exact model in spring and carry her with me all day long at work. Still haven't changed the batteries.

Eagle, I sent you an email. Also, I looked at the quarks and still went with my fenix. I just liked the UI a bit better.
