The only time this does not work is when you have a heavy pack on and need to cynch the pack around your waist. Alot of the hunting I do involves alot of walking and this system works for me as well as it did for men thru out history
yes, so that's when you grab your pack, which already has all that shit in it.
Really glad to are trying to hammer home the value of the overbelt, because I think it worked on me. I have a maxpedition go-to pack, but it's hot in the summer and generally way more carrying capacity than I need this time of year. Plus it snags on stuff all the time and impedes my arms a bit, especially my strong arm.
I'm envisioning an overbelt with a shoulder strap and a removable pocket on the back just big enough for a 2-3oz bladder or canteen, and a few smaller pockets up the front of the strap.
Might even have enough leather to turn this into a project. Thanks Joe, like I need more projects.
