Work in Progress............heavy on pics.

I'm sorry I didn't get the last day of this build off posted sooner, I have been flat on my back in bed the past couple days, wrenched something, anyway here are the rest of the pics and the final assembly.

Todd is using a special sanding block he made to hand sand.
Blatant promotion note: these sanding blocks come in various sizes and Alpha Knife Supply is the sole distributor.;)

I've skipped the hours of hand sanding, polishing and sharpening.....tedius and boring to watch, but understand that it took about 11 hours of hand work to get to the final finishes on all the parts.

Everything is done, the following pics are of the knife being assembled.

Hope you enjoyed the progress of this special knife being built. It was Todd's first real foray into the fantasy genre, he thoroughly enjoyed making this knife.

Thanks for showing how you put it together. That was awesome!

I somehow never finished this thread to the end, it fell off the front page while I was away and I had to go searching for it to see how this finished up. WIP posts are cool.

I, for one, certainty appreciate good machine work when I see it. When one considers the hours of skilled labor that goes into something like this, it is really a hell of a bargain for collectors. If you were to commission a designer and model shop to create something like that you could easily break into the five digit range....

Tanya,

Thank you so much for taking the time to shoot, post and describe all these great images showing this very cool piece from start to finish. I know it is a lot of work, and it is very much appreciated.
