Photos Work/Off Work EDC Photos

I'm at work right now, work carry is usually a thinner grind 3 to 3.5 inch blade

Out of work tends to be military or hinderer xm etc , usually 3.5/4 inch blade and some thicker blade stock at times
Hey Yoko, which knife do u like that is thinner grind 3 to 3.5 inches?

Spyderco chokwe is one of my all time favorite work knives for slicing, pm2/ kershaw dividend/ kershaw leek are great , also a big manix 2 fan ( though a little thicker than the pm2)

My "work" knife tends to be something that is easy to slice through boxes and envelopes since I'm in my home office 12+hrs a day during the week. My typical work day carry lately has been either a CRK Inkosi Insingo or a Spyderco Kapara. The weekend is when the more hard use knives come out to play including my Gen6 Hinderer XM-18 slicer and Becker BK9. The weekend is when I spend time working around the house and chopping the hell out of the stuff in the back yard when it grows out of control. Any excuse to hack something up with the BK9 is a good weekend :)

Billy, I think you could edit the post to put it in the PHOTOS category. If not, maybe ask a mod? Photos are great, and it’s a good thread in my view.

Thank you! I will try to edit it. The point of this thread was seeing pictures of the contrasting differences in on duty and off duty carries, for those who differentiate.

I'm glad someone sees what I was going for, haha

That's interesting! I baby mine, to the point I annoy myself with it. I have temporarily stopped carrying it because of this. I am having a hard time fully appreciating the knife because of the cost, haha

There’s nothing wrong with wanting to keep your knives looking good and nothing wrong with using them either. Just don’t let the price deter your appreciation for them, as long as you’re not abusing them they will be fine.

My Marfione Custom went flying out of my pocket once and landed on concrete when my girlfriends dog got loose and I had to chase him. A couple little marks on the body, couple scuffs on the clip, and I just put it back in my pocket. Not really a big deal, I’m in good health and life is good, not gonna let a pocket knife ruin my day:D

Now if I lost or broke it, that’s a different story:eek:

In honor of you, I am going to carry my Microtech all this weekend, and actually use the thing.

:cool::thumbsup:

At work it's my Alox Electrician, and has been, for the past.... three years?

It's had it's share of adventures.

Though it's nothing compared to what Dcdavis' Sebenza has gone through!

Outside of work, sometimes the Alox just stays there. Sometimes, it's substituted by the QSP Worker.

I like Wharncliffe blades, and modern traditionals.

The Camillus Electrician gets some pocket time,

but I still like pocket clips a little better.

Once in a while, the Puppy gets rotated in. I wanted a sodbuster-pattern knife, but could never find the right one.

If I feel like a change of pace, I'll carry the Copper Ripple.

When I can't be sure of the crowd, the Skeletool CX goes with me.

But there are times when I just feel like carrying something silly, and that's what the TOPS Lil' Roughneck is for.

Awesome gear! What is that second knife from the top, the flipper frame lock?

Awesome! Love the contrast. I find it interesting your work knife is a slip joint.
A slip joint is less hassle at work. I frequently climb on and off equipment, so a pocket clip has a tendency to snag. I actually lost a pocket clip to a Native 5 one time climbing off of a forklift.

That’s a custom Vesper made by Mark Varga. I was very fortunate to win it in a giveaway years ago.

He expected me to beat it up and see what it will really do, so I’ve been wailing on it ever since. :D It’s held up beautifully and has tons of character.

Awesome! Well, it looks great! I love flippers, and love frame locks.
