Hey Guys
I have been seriously thinking of picking up a work sharp in addition to my edge pro and sharpmaker (Ken Onion Edition). I am fairly proficient on my current options but sometimes need to remove a bit more steel. I would like to hear from some guys who have all of the above. What are the pro's and con's how nice of an edge can a get with it? And does it make a significant difference in time spent making it worth the cost.

The KO-WS is my primary sharpener and has been for a little over a year.
I love the damned thing. As a guy with full time job, a toddler, a kid on the way, two dogs, the house, the cars. etc... free time is not something i have tons of at the moment.
The fact that I can go from absolutely paper dashingly dull to very sharp in all of 10 minutes, with a bright mirror polish to the blade, is really something spectacular. With any other sharpener it would take 2-3x at long, minimum.

That said, I don't know how well the WS would "play with others" if you have other sharpening systems. Remember it's going to convex all your edges, so if you have other systems that are set up around a V grind, keep in mind that you may need to adjust.

I hit the breaking point a few years ago when the number of knives I use regularly exceeded the point where I enjoy maintaining them all equally. Now I use a KO-WS on all my user pocket and kitchen knives. It's a great tool. For higher-value knives, I'll take the time with stones or a Sharpmaker.

i have the edge pro apex,a spyderco sm and the ko-ws and use the ko to reprofile or fix the profile on a knife someone has screwd up then finish it with the edge pro then a strop. They all work great together for me.

I got a K.O. version as a gift. I use it for everyday kitchen knives, axes, tools, that kind of stuff. Works well. My expensive folders go on the Edge pro.

I've kept the KO for fillet knives and my 10" breaking knives which I use a lot on fish.

Fastest thing for long skinny flexible blades. Puts on a good utility convex edge quickly. Edge pro can get it to ridiculous sharpness but it takes too long to get rid of the nicks.

I freehand or edge pro all folders and belt knives.

Tried the KO on s110v. Not pleased with results. Couldn't get it super sharp. Polished but not sharp sharp. My Atoma 600 and 1200 plates now makes S110v easy and enjoyable.
