This is a working grade knife that has a fairly rough fit and finish. Nice balance and feel in the hand.
It came to me pretty dull, and I have done some sharpening to make the edge keener, however it has a ways to go to become razor sharp. The maker would probably sharpen the knife for you if you did not wish to do so yourself. I am awaiting contact information for him.
Made by Duane Morganflash of Muldrow, Oklahoma, who has been making custom knives for over 15 years. He learned from makers such as Bob Dozier, Ray Kirk and Harry Fentress. Each of his knives are signed with his logo, “BearPaw” Cutlery.
Flat Ground, 5-1/4” damascus blade is hand forged out of 1095 and 52100. The blade thickness is .145 at the ricasso with the tang tapering down to .060 at the butt. The spine of the blade is rounded. The handle is made of nicely figured Walnut Burl and is secured by 3 flush-ground brass pins. Overall length of 10”.
Comes with a right-handed kydex sheath set up for horizontal carry.
