Working large stock

The kid in me thanks you very much :)
52 foot quench tanks huh? I bet that job doesnt ever get boring!

Somehow I don't think the steel-toed boots would help all that much around there.

Cool vids fitzo  I wonder if that is the same place that forged the HUGE damascus billet. I remember seeing a vid not to long ago that showed a monstrous piece of damascus being forged. So big in fact, they were moving it around with a big lift truck. That place is "set-up" ;)

What a bunch of wussy equipment they have! Can you believe they have the nerve to refer to that stuff as hammers and presses?

;)

WOW! Very cool my friend!!! Thanks for the link. I would LOVE to take a tour of that place and actually get to watch the heating and forging.

That's some VERY precise driving on the lift-truck operator's part to move those billets in and around so smoothly. I would like to know the weight of the ram on that A frame hammer.

And here I thought I was cool because I have a thousand pounds of W2 and about 400 lb. of 1084 laying around. ;) Their yard of various "as smelted" billets was unreal.

Thanks again Fitz, that was TRES COOL! :D

The main headquarters is about 25 miles from here.

Last night Nanc and I were joking about what it would take to get inside there to watch. We had two ideas:

First was to say there were like "47" of us interested in buying the cheapest part they made on the large machines, but we'd have to observe it's manufacture. :)

Second, we thought that maybe we could rent a bus, get a bunch of you to dress in Catholic schoolboy shorts outfit and we could try and get in on a
"field trip". Some of you would look really cute dressed up like Angus Young. :D

EEEEEEEEWWWWWW! :barf:

Just dress in tartan-pattern suits and send a bag-piper out in front of your group, and I'm sure the doors will fly open.
