Hello Everyone,
Here is a working-sized, pattern-welded seax. It is made in the traditional manner. The spine is wrought iron (with a very visible pattern and a lot of character).

The cutting portion of the blade is 9 layers of 1080 and 15n20. There is a twist in the pattern.

The handle is a beautiful piece of birdseye maple, with wrought iron fittings and leather spacer.

The overall length is just under 11", with a 6" plus blade and a 4.25" handle.

The blade is shaped in accordance with museum findings. It has a large tang going through the handle. The blade has a convex bevel, and is wickedly sharp.

This is not a factory knife! It is entirely hand-made. If you want a perfect knife with no character, do not buy this one. If you want a unique piece of hand-made art that I have sweated and pondered over for the past two weeks, then this is your knife.

By the way, I have finally gotten a maker's mark, and this is the third I have stamped.

Overall, this is a very strong and beautiful knife, it will last generations.

I am asking $300.00 for it. Please PM if you are interested.

I made a design change, and now the handle meets the blade at a more pleasing angle.
