I managed to burn up 4 folder blades yesterday AFTER heat treating. I started over this morning with an attitude about it. I had two days in those blades but took one day to be back where I was yesterday before the AW CRAP! Guess it helps sometimes to work w/ an attitude.

Bill,
"Slow down ya move too fast...got to make the morning last"......I am not giving you a hard time.....
Sounds like maybe you have a non-variable speed grinder.....if it is posssible, spring for a variable speed motor and controls....maybe even with a reverse for sharpening...
By the way, I quit saving what I have messed up many many moons ago.....too much steel....
Good Luck!

Heck Bill I work with an attitude every day and all it does is get me into freakin trouble. I think what your really talking about is senior moments, just being one day didn't give the senior moment enough time to kick in so you didn't forget what you did wrong, now if it would have been 2 or 3 days you'd have been right back where you started the first day, well speaking for myself anyways.:grumpy::D

Keep the heat down this time, :D

Bill those senior moments are getting really frequent these days. The short term memory is about gone too. They have a really good product for the memory loss and if I ever remember what the name of it is I'm gonna go buy some!!

Well, there ya go...just a little detour on the knife highway, and yer back on the main road again. Sounds like it oughtta be a country song.....

Maybe even write a little card for next to the furnace to state what each program is? :D

damn,,, I forgot what I was going say ...

Hey Bill
I work at putting out a lot of fires in the maintanance machine shop industry and if you want a job done quick, screw up the first one. It's suprising how fast you can work when you are under the gun and open up the tolerances to get a line up and running again. Paul

If you ever remember what it was Bill, please write it down so you can tell me. :D You know I throught I was pretty tough when I was younger, but growing old'er is the toughest job I've ever had and it been proven many times over, growing old ain't for sissies.
Keep at it buddy and I hope you don't forget where you laid the 4 folder blades you just redone. :D

Bill
