Hi Folks,
I just received a couple of pieces of Sambar Stag Rolls from Ellen Hunting in the mail. They are larger pieces and I was planning on making through tang Bowie styled blades with them. I will be capping the ends with metal and fasting to the threaded tang, so I will be drilling all the way through. My question is this, should I remove all of the "pith/core" material or simply drill through and leave the remaining pith? If I do remove all of the pith material, is their a simple way to soften it? Should just drill it out? Any information regarding working with this material would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks So Much,
Bobby
