I really want to try my hand at doing a titianium framelock folder, but my tool selection being a beginner is pretty basic. Drill press and grinder (also have some powered hand tools). Am I out of my league still to give one a shot? I don't want to throw my $$ away on expensive Ti if I don't have the slightest chance of producing a quality product with my tooling. But if it's possible to work on with what I have or some better bits and a jigsaw/dremel/angle grinder, I'd like to give it a shot.

And if my tooling is not up to the task, what do I need to add to get into the framelock game (other than skill)?

Please weight in with your thoughts. Thanks,

John

Yeah, I don't really want to do a kit as that is just really grinding the blade and putting things together. I'd like to do my own personal design. What I'm most interested in is what tools I need to be able to cut the Ti from sheet/stock and then cut the lock, drill for detent and cut/heat to get the spring. And some bevel work as well.
