World reknowned knife designer in a fatal motorcycle accident today

from Miss Lora:
and for the record-
it was heat-related and nothing but.
''May I not ride any Faster than my Angel Can Fly....''
I sure do miss the ol' coot

It is always sad when a genius dies prematurely. What else could he/she have left us? It is even sadder when the genius happens to be a hell of a nice guy. Blackie we're gonna miss ya. The angels are looking forward to your arrival. The knives in heaven need an upgrade. RIP

Just wanted to answer a question about Blackie's memorial by posting his arrangements here. Please forward as needed.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at Trinity Baptist Church, 2003 Charleston Highway, Cayce.
ALL ARE WELCOME.

What a great loss; he will be missed! I've had a number of motorcycle accidents myself, it's God's grace I'm still walking around!

Same here, sciatics act up in my left leg, there is a dead patch along my thigh and my lower back craps out when it feels like it. All from bouncing off a bike now and then in the past. But I still like bikes and ride. It is sad news about Mr. Collins indeed, but I say it's better to go out doing what you love, then have your heart lock up while changing a tire or some such. RIP bud.

As another motorcycle and knife enthusiast, my prayers and thoughts go out to Mr. Collins and his family.

Just read this and saddened by it. Still have a Blackie Collins neck knife I bought decades ago.
