Took the family camping this weekend at Wharton state forest NJ. and had a blast, we had good food, good drinks, a couple good knives and great
weather to boot! Pictures speak a thousand words... Ill let them do most the talking, enjoy if you have any questions feel free to ask away :)

Firewood was plentiful and all around us, but i did use a couple knives just for fun.

And the clean up, First i went and picked up all the trash i could see then we had a game the kids are familiar with... In 5 minutes who ever
can pick up the most trash, no matter if it was our or not, gets 5 dollars worth of whatever candy they want from the store on the way home,
The loser still gets a couple pieces, though, plus the winner was nice and shared anyway :)

Im a firm believer in making the place better than it was when you showed up, and im big against littering. i dont even throw cigarette butts down
i field strip em and pocket them till i get to a trash can.

I could tell ya what id pick out the 2, but im sure its obvious :)

I only took those 2 knives. (plus hatchet and machete that never left the car) You see the size of wood i was cutting with it, that woods as big as you ever need to cut, bigger than you need in most cases and the RMD slid thru like butter. It was love at first SLICE :)

Good times indeed...wait a minute....there was a picture of a turkey walking by...then some mysterious poultry on the bbq.....hmmm...I like it...:-)
 
Looks like you had an awesome trip! Much deserved.

Good job teaching the kids to respect the land and pick up trash. Too bad more parents don't teach their kids that game.

yeah, I know I will get both, just trying to decide which one to get first :D

Cool pics, can't do much camping now in SoFla or adjacent areas, weather and mosquitos suck right now

My 2 favorite users! This was my first chance chopping with an RMD, I was highly impressed with it! Also tried batoning and it worked fine, but i honestly don't do much batoning with small knives unless for giggles. My batoneer king is honestly an Ontario sp8.... but it stayed home as i wanted to use just those 2 knives and see if they left me wanting or needing more.... they did not.

Id go RMD for sure, first, but hey that's me :)

I know all about them skeeters, lmao im from florida myself... more central FL though.
 
Looks like a fun trip WW. I'd like to express my thanks for leaving the place clean, love that attitude. I like to propagate that too, and it's nice to see others respecting their environment as well.
Adorable kids man. Enjoy the good times with 'em. I'm pretty sure your son will out-chop you in a contest pretty soon though. Badass kid! :D
