There was a group of firefighters in the campsite next to us. there was 3 guys and a lady. They seemed nice enough, we talked with a couple laughs for a few minutes about my knives, his kukri, firefighting, and beer.
During the night me and the wife commented several times about there difficulty in keeping there fire going, ours never went out once, even when the little bit of rain came in, i was up all but 2 hours the first night and didn't sleep at all the 2nd night. It was funny to see them struggle with the fire though, we joked about there job suiting them... as they even put out there own fire lmao. I was a volunteer firefighter for a couple years before i joined the army, i went thru fire 1 training, first responder courses, EVOC, and other small courses. i found that pyros make the best firefighters lmao.
Anyway back to the point.... I thought the guys were cool, decent people with great honest public serving jobs and great attitudes.... Until the last day...
They left there camp a total mess. broken bottles, trash everywhere, food on the ground, Styrofoam plates in the fire pit.... NO... I was disgusted. I cleaned their site but took a walk down to the water in hopes to find them. they were gone, i hope someone broke in there home just to throw trash everywhere while they were on their trip.
I have my own issues, im in no way a saint, But the things i might do bother NO ONE, especially not the land. I wish everyone would take a few minutes to make the things around them a little better, and after your finished stop and smell a flower... no, literally.
