What is the worst cut or injury you have ever experienced? I once cut almost down to the bone on my right index finger when my leatherman e300 liner lock failed on me! and yes i do mean an injury caused by a knife!

I assume you mean in regards to a knife so that's the answer I'll give. I've had no major injuries with knives, I stabbed myself pretty well in the palm with a kershaw scallion, still havent figured out how that happened. I did cut my pinky pretty badly once, while picking up a kabar I hadnt realized that the top edge had been sharpened and that left me with a little gash. But overall knife inflicted injuries don't even figure into the scope of abuse I've put my body through.

Dislocated 2 discs and badly strained my right erector spinae because I was stupid and wanted to train with a minor sprain, I couldn't sit or stand for a week, and had really bad back pain for 3months, I still have a bit of back pain for time to time but it's not so bad.

I've never done worse than nicked or scratched myself with one of my knives.

With someone else's dull kitchen knife I managed to slice myself across two fingers nicely, but no stitches were needed. A sharp knife is a safe knife.

I'm liking super pointy knives a bit less these days though. An accidental stab would be a lot worse than most slices, and I just don't need super-pointy all the time. I like my Vic OHT's tip because it is there enough that one can puncture most things to slice sideways, but rounded just enough that if you accidentally dropped it on your foot or slipped and poked your arm you'd have a shallow nick or gouge instead of half the blade inside you. If I need a point, the OHT has an awl. I like my hawkbill blade, but I'm eyeing it more cautiously these days.

Other than that, cracked ribs and feet from competitive Taekwondo.

Hmm, probably the time I fell off my skateboard face first into the road and busted open my chin, scraped my hand down to the bone and knocked out the bottom half of three front teeth.

I've had two concussions too. First time I had too much weight forward going up a spine and just flipped over when my front wheels got stuck in a part where the coping stood up more. The other time I ollied too low at an angled manual pad and my back wheels caught, throwing me into the pad, then bouncing off and landing on my head. Felt great.

Broke some fingers and my wrist too.

Recently at work I was putting a lot of pressure on a screw trying to break it loose, when it broke free and my hand slipped and went into a corner of the sheet metal of the ATM component I was working on. My thumb got sliced down to the bone. Put a bandaid on it, then superglued over it the next day, been doing fine since.

If you mean worst injury from a knife, I've only had minor cuts. :D

I did have one that made me feel dumb. Was whittling wood shavings to start a fire with a Victorinox Nylon Solo. Said something to my friend then picked the knife back up and started to whittle more. Only I had it backwards, and didn't realize until I felt the freshly sharpened edge push into my thumb.

In that case, I accidentally stabbed a tanto boker trance about 1/2" into my palm while checking for blade play and the blade slipped(always point the blade away from you when checking for up and down blade play!).

that sucks that pretty deep! i did the same thing when cleaning the snow off my hockey skates!

Knife injuries? Where do I start? Many cuts. Most not too bad. A few needed some stitches or butterflies but made do with tape and lots of gauze to stop the bleeding. Got stabbed once. Fortunately it wasn't too bad and didn't go too deep. Again, tape and gauze.

Other injuries? Hahaha......I'm sure others have had worse but I would bet that several here would agree that motorcycle crashes suck.

I was making the hole bigger in a knife blank with my drill press. I was holding the blade with my left hand with three fingers to the left of the drill bit and my index finger to the right. I pulled the drill press handle down with my right hand. Just before the hole was complete, the bit hung and the blade started spinning like a helicopter blade stuck to the bit. In a split second I had cut the finger print off my ring finger, a slice off my middle finger, a slice above my ring, and almost cut the entire end off the bottom of my index finger. This was last summer and everything looks normal again, but my finger tips are still sensitive to pressure and heat and cold.

a very nasty man slashed my left hand and arm while in the service. Lots of stitches and tape.

if its a competition your winning so far!

Worst knife related injury was when I was 13 or 14 and I was chopping weeds for a local farmer in one of his fields. I was using a relatively dull curved-blade machete we had laying around, I had thought about sharpening it, but never got around to it, good thing too. I was aiming to chop through what looked like a small tree, maybe an inch and a half in diameter or so, and presumed it would take several whacks. Went clean through on the first try and since I wasn't expecting it to, I wasn't as careful as I should have been with where the rest of my body was.

The machete ended up sticking in my left arm about 4" above my wrist, didn't quite make it to the bone, thank goodness it wasn't very sharp. I immediately dropped the machete and grabbed the wound with my right hand, clamping down with considerable force. I hopped on my bike and rode a mile or two to the farmer's house where his wife helped bandage up the cut. I probably should have had stitches because the 3/8" x 2" scar I've on my arm for the last 25 years would be a lot smaller now.

When I was five I accidentally cut my mom pretty badly. She was a seamstress, and asked me to hand her a seam ripper. I handed it to her, and through an unfortunate turn of events cut the artery in her wrist as the seam ripper ended up sticking in her wrist instead of laying in her hand. A quick trip to the hospital had her fixed up, sure was one hell of a bloody mess though.

Wow! thats a good story? how hard was it to ride all that way with an injury like that?

Vietnam. The strange thing about it is that after all these years, it's the right hand that doesn't work very well. Although the left hand tingles sometimes. I consider myself pretty fortunate, so many didnt come home at all.

I was opening a box with my Buck 110 when three nice girls asked me where the hairspray was. I looked at them and forgot what I was doing until they jumbed back,I looked down and saw blood spurting from from the palm of my hand.
