worst (or best) cut you've givin yourself

I was cutting wood outside with a skyline. It was rainy outside so I slipped and landed on the knife. No torso penetration but unlucky for me the blade landed on my thumb knuckle and cut all the way to my tendon. Worse injury every and 9months later I still don't have complete dexterity.

Was stripping some large mcm wires to hook up a generator for a telephone company with my Large Micarta Insingo, it had been atleast a month since my last sharpening, so it wasn't as sharp as I was used to, so I was using more pressure than usual and in a hurry and the wire slipped out of my left hand and my thumb went up the whole side of the knife, fileting the side of my thumb to the bone...

7 stitches later, I have full feeling luckily and it healed up in about 3 weeks...

Learned my lesson, now I sharpen once a week.

A Dull knife is a dangerous knife.

Last October I got a Kershaw Volt an just about an inch in my left palm and got 4 stitches, then 2 day after I hit my hand on a desk at school and made my hand bleed under my stitches. I had to get surgery for it and ended up with 12 stitches and a long zig zaggy scar on the palm of my hand and my middle finger has been numb since then.

batoning the day i got my bk9 missed the first strike and filleted my thum

using the spine of said bk9 to strike a firesteel i learned to pull the firesteel toward you not push the knife away it hit the middle finger's first knuckle and the bone dented the edge

sharpening a buck zipper i got distracted and the knife went in at a 45 degree angle into my index finger between the 2nd and 3rd knuckle all the way to bone

using a dremel with the high speed milling bit i was being dumb neither the dremel nor the material was clamped down and the bit went haywire at 30000 rpm it ripped open the tip of my middle finger then the entire top of my left ring fingerand took a 1/4 inch deep chunk out of my left pinkie finger

an old aluminum broom handle that was bent was jamming the lid of our trashcan closed so i had to break it. i hit it on a telephone pole and when it broke it swung around and hit my left forearm went almost to the bone and bled like a stuck pig

notice every incident is on my left hand as the right hand is always safely on the knife handle.

p.s. a knife is only truly mine after its bit me and tasted my blood.

Alright, I will throw mine in. This is why you don't swim in an area of the river where all kinds of people stay there to fish, and throw trash in the river. I jumped off the bank chasing a snake, and this is what happened. I don't know what I cut it on. But I lost enough blood that I almost fainted. I also had to ride home so my parents could take me to the hospital. We get there, and because they don't know what cut me, I have to get x-rays. Well they cleaned my cut out, took x-rays, then made me wait 2 hours before they shot me up with painkiller and stitched it up. If I remember correctly, it was three internal stitches, and 7 external. I couldn't walk for five days, and if I dropped my foot below knee level it hurt so bad. I still have a lump of scar tissue down there.

I dont have a pic. I was hand sanding a fillet knife with a pointy tip. It was clamped down on a piece of 2x4 with the point hanging over the edge. I was at around 600 grit and was feeling a little fatigue and wanted to finish so I started moving back and forth a little faster. In one of the passes I came into contact with the tip with my thumb where the joint is. The tip went in all the way and I felt it hit the bone. It hurt like a mutha! I wrapped it up and finished the sanding though. I never leave an exposed tip now while doing anything knife related that is clamped to the work bench.

The worst cut i have ever given myself was actually from a cold steel kukri machete. My best friend and I were in the woods and I fell on my back and landed on the edge. I ended up with a cut across my back about 8 inches long and was open about 2 1/2 inches and cut all the way into my back muscles. At the hospital they said i had lost 3-4 pints of blood. They had to sew the muscles back together and then i got 14 staples on my skin. Ill try to post pics as soon as i can. Its a pretty nice cut! Haha
