Sorry for adding to an old thread but did not think this would warrant it's own.
I purchased a new in original box Buck 102 off the big auction site. The box looked almost new in the pictures. After paying for the knife I sent the seller a message asking the seller to please take care in packaging
the knife for shipping. Please place in a secondary box with the knife wrapped up real good so the knife cannot damage the box when being tossed around and please do not put any tape, stickers etc on the box and
that the condition of the box is partially why I purchased the knife so as an item for a collection it is important to me to receive the knife and box in as good as possible condition.
The seller responded that he understood and would do what he could to make sure I received the item in great condition just like I bought it.
I received the knife a few days later and to my surprise it was just wrapped in black plastic with tape wrapped around it. I cut and unwrapped the item carefully and was happy to find it undamaged and just like shown
in the pictures. He did not put it in a secondary box. He did not wrap the knife, just had it in it's sheath. He just wrapped it in black plastic. He did not put any tape on the original box so I was happy with that.
I later left him feedback. I did leave positive but did mention the bad packaging,
Here is the description, the feedback I left and his comment.
BUCK KNIVES #102A USA STAG HANDLE HUNTING KNIFE w/SHEATH in Orig Box *VERY NICE!
Feedback left; Positive Great item. Packaging was nonexistent. Just wrapped in plastic. Should be boxed.

Item Was In Original Box No Need For 2 Boxes For A Small item Like This (Knife)
I guess I should have left him negative feedback or at least neutral.
