If you're going to be stationary, such as cabin living or camp-based day trips, I'd want a good fixed blade suitable for kitchen work and basic woodsman tools like a bowsaw and hatchet. On the other hand, if you're going to be mobile and the success of the trip is based on daily mileage, I'd skip the saws, hatchets, and the SAK - get a lightweight fixed blade instead.
