Would any of y'all like any discontinued patterns revived?.

Thanks you guys.

It doesn't look laminated, like the one above it in the picture. Maybe it is Pakkawood. It looks similar in texture to an old Kabar folding hunter I have that I know is Pakkawood. They both look kind of shimmery in direct light, probably due to all the resin in the PW. Color is a little different, but that doesn't matter because PW is always dyed anyway.

Well it doesn't matter so much, I just thought someone might know. Maybe I'll e-mail the picture to Case (with James Todd's permission) and see what they say. If I find out of course I'll report back here.

Thanks again!

Jim
Permission of course is granted, I am curious also.
Thanks,
Jim

The world needs more mid-sized (3.5" closed) equal end jacks with rounded bolsters, bone handle and carbon steel blades!

I wish Case would bring back the real 347 pattern not the 3 backspring model they make now, I really like the thicker clip blade much better, and I also wish Case would make a REAL Stag Gunboat like the one they made 80 or so years ago:D

There are not enough 2 blade, 1 backspring folders out there today. Bring back the 06247PEN.

Case evidently did a limited run of something very similar, but in stainless.

Anthony,

That is a Case Classic with a true split/tapered backspring. Steel is not stainless, it is a high carbon steel. Prob 1095.

A harness jack with some carbon blades, and the old red/brown jigged bone handles sounds good to me.

Peter

Good suggestions fellows!.

Hows about the old large Fat Jack knives by Case in the late 1960's and early 1970's?.. # 31SAB

Slamm'n walk & talk with half stops and no blade wobble and large strong springs along with long pulls made this Jack the cutter of choice.
