Hello, I'm looking for a custom wedding band in perhaps D2 steel. I'm a steel junky, and would like my ring to wear with time. I'm hoping a custom knife maker may be able to take this project on.

Thank you for considering.

I'm not sure that D-2 would be the best choice, it could become magnetized, could rust ect. Titanium would be light, inexpensive and they are readily available.

I'd choose stainless over D2 for the corrosion issues. My own wedding band is stainless damascus with a sterling silver lining. I do not make rings but I can give you the name of the fellow who made mine if you like... send me a pm or email.

something to think about is also if a problem how will a hospital cut it off (or to save your finger with they strip the finger to get the ring off )

Butch has a good point there... you definitely don't want it HT'ed for that reason, and un-hardened D2 will rust if you look at it funny.
