Would like some advice

The Camillus EDC isn't so good for flickability (at least mine isn't). gearGOON is right on the money with axis locks being one of the best for flicking open. But I like the index trigger/flipper method on the Kershaw Ken Onion Chive/Scallion/Boa for that or my CRKT M18. The Chive is probably a little smaller than you'd like to carry by itself--I carry it as a backup to the bigger blades. For the flipper, you might want to check out the CRKT M16 series which runs around $34 US

As for the Stiff K.I.S.S.--I'd prefer the Camillus Arclite any day. Nothing against the K.I.S.S., but I prefer the recurve blade of the Arclite compared to the tanto blade of any of the K.I.S.S. profiles. (If you do get a K.I.S.S. then I'd recommend either the wharncliffe or drop point as opposed to the tanto).

ok, cool... i've been browsing around blade auctions and i found a couple nice lookin' knives... wut do u guys think?

namrepus,
i don't recognize the blades in that first picture post, but if you like the "folding dagger" look, than here's a couple models that should offer top notch performance and quality.

here's a camillus production version of a darrel ralph design...D-2 is an awesome premium quality tool steel...one of my personal favorites.

http://store.yahoo.com/bestknives/camcudmax55.html

this one's a K-Bar version of a bob dozier design...D-2 again...this one should be really nice, i'm tempted to buy one myself.

i know these are a little beyond your price range, but considering the designers and the blade steel...both of these should represent an exceptional value.

have fun,
e.

yeah, they kinda looked like more flashy knives then quality, thx man... i think im just gonna stick to in-town purchases (unless i can find somewher that will let me pay via PayPal, seeing as i dont hav a credit card!!)

No offense, but from the pictures (they're pretty high res), they look like bad quality pieces (lookers).
I've seen the first one in a knife store, and it's no good. It's probably a novelty item and I doubt it would hold an edge at all.
The finish on the blade of the second blade makes me shudder. It's supposed to be mirror finish, but it looks blemished to me.
Camillus makes nice stuff, but I haven't try the lev-r-lock thing.
The CRKT M16/M18 are good knives at its price. I have a Tanto and tried the spearpoint M16. Lovely pieces.
Don't worry, your knife knut disease would get worse.
IMO you should try out the Delica/Endura from spyderco ;)
You won't be diappointed.
Oh beware that the Ladybug, Jester and the dragonfly doesn't look like the proportions on the lebaron catalog. It doesn't have anything for you to compare to and they look bigger IMO.

Cool, what about the Puma Steel? that knife looked pretty cool... lo, but at this point i think im just gonna buy a nice kneck knife or boot knife... thx for all the help guys! i appreciate it! :D

I've no experience with puma steel. Perhaps you should look around (use the search function)
Hey no problem for the suggestions. This is what this forum is for. I remember I was a newbie....
BTW where are you in Canada?

I'm in Winnipeg, Manitoba  man, its like 40 degrees here today, must b insane down in vancouver!! :P

Well, i made my decision and this wendsday im going to get a money order and order a Delta-Z Osprey (Sorry for wasteing your time, everyone! i feel really bad for not taking your suggestions, but i will keep these all in mind for the next time i am going to buy a knife!!) THANKS SO MUCH EVERYONE!!!!:D :D :D

It's all a learning experience! :)

I've got a couple of Delta Z knives, and I like them both a lot. The Osprey is beautiful -- what else would we expect from Darrell Ralph? Enjoy it!

As long as you're getting decent pieces, no problem ;)

Thx guys!! :D

I just wanted to say that this forum KICKS ASS, and so do the people on it.. well, the ones ive spoken to, at least :):D

I saw a plain edge Spyderco Calypso online yesterday for $85 US. VG-10, Micarta, nice . . . I would have bought it, but I just bought a Benchmade 806D2. I sent the link home. I'll try to remember to post it tonight.

I can't remember wut model it was... might hav been a civilian? not sure, anyways.. it was a nice big spyderco knife for 79.99$ CDN at united army surplus! :)

Being as you are in Canada when don't you go with a Grohmann? The fixed blades are nice, I especially like the Canadian jump knife with the fold over flapped sheath. I've never handled one of the folders but they certainly look pretty nice!
